Face to Face: Sharing Your Faith

Unique Evangelism November 25, 2008 • By God calls us to share our faith with others and to make disciples, but there are many different ways to do that. Here are some unique ways that people have shared their faith. European missionary group, Eye on Europe gives two stories: - Jacob Bock tells the humorous story about presenting Jesus the Savior to a young girl who was seeking answers to life. This occurred while riding on the metro (subway). Jacob kept telling her there was a secret if she would just read the Bible, and he kept mentioning what she needed to do...but never told the secret! Finally, an exasperated "eavesdropper", whom they were not even aware was listening, said, "For pity's sake, tell her the secret!"
- But there's more to the story. On another occasion, two missionaries were riding the metro.. One acted like an unbeliever, a sinner, while the other began "witnessing" to him about Jesus. The 'sinner' would ask questions and appear skeptical. Those nearby never failed to get involved by leaning closer and listening. Isn't that a neat way to spread the good news of Jesus? God inspires such creativity.

While choosing personal pain over public shame is certainly a human enough choice, it’s one no one should continue to make once the cost of that trade becomes too consistently oppressive. Eventually, it’s just not worth it. If the fire in your house is between you and your clothes, sooner or later you must run out of your house naked. Emergencies prioritize needs, every time.
If you’re a woman who’s beginning to question whether the natural and understandable kinds of fears I wrote about in my last post are worth what it’s costing you to remain in a bad/abusive relationship, consider the following two points... On several occasions, I have listened in on conversations regarding other artists similar to Three 6 Mafia who publicly acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior, thank Him for their accomplishments, or write a song in His honor, yet their representation of Him is suspect. I accepted Jesus Christ at age 11. But even after accepting Christ, my greatest desire was to not go to hell. So basically, I was a sprinter running a marathon. I wouldn't go far with speed and no endurance.
