While choosing personal pain over public shame is certainly a human enough choice, it’s one no one should continue to make once the cost of that trade becomes too consistently oppressive. Eventually, it’s just not worth it. If the fire in your house is between you and your clothes, sooner or later you must run out of your house naked. Emergencies prioritize needs, every time. If you’re a woman who’s beginning to question whether the natural and understandable kinds of fears I wrote about in my last post are worth what it’s costing you to remain in a bad/abusive relationship, consider the following two points...
On several occasions, I have listened in on conversations regarding other artists similar to Three 6 Mafia who publicly acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior, thank Him for their accomplishments, or write a song in His honor, yet their representation of Him is suspect.
I accepted Jesus Christ at age 11. But even after accepting Christ, my greatest desire was to not go to hell. So basically, I was a sprinter running a marathon. I wouldn't go far with speed and no endurance.

The economy sucks right now. Un-employment is up to 10%. Starbucks is doing something about it - they have a really slick campaign encouraging us to all go out and serve our communities. What about The Church? In these tough economic times, the Church needs to be right there, serving people, helping - this tough economy is really an opportunity from God for us to be a light! Let's not squander this! Here are some ideas of how we can serve our communities, lessen the burden of the economic crisis, and build trust with outsiders...
