Bill Maher Mocks Jesus October 4, 2008 Did dinosaurs live with humans?Is hell real?How did Jonah live in a big fish for three days? Isn’t religious faith just like mental illness? These are some of the questions that comedian Bill Maher raises in his new movie Religulous. It’s a satirical look at the world’s 3 main religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Even though he spends the entire movie mocking organized religion and laughing in the face of believers, it’s a movie that Christians should go see. But not all Christians. Only those who feel like their faith can stand up to doubt-filled questions asked at rapid-fire speed. He addresses almost everything in the Bible, from creation and the virgin birth to hell, injustice, the trinity, and the 2nd coming of Christ, all in an hour and a half. He brought up things that I didn’t even know were issues for people. But that’s the real beauty in going to see the movie – you learn what questions the atheists, agnostics, cultural christians, new believers and even you yourself might be having about faith in God. It forces you to go find answers to at least some of the questions. I would find it hard to believe that a Christian could leave this movie and not feel compelled to go research at least some of the stuff that he says or some of the people that he talks to. Of course you’ll leave this movie with some confused emotions. I left feeling mad at him for mocking Christians and faith in general, frustrated because he brought up so many questions for which I didn’t have answers, and daunted at the prospect of trying to find answers to all of the many questions raised. But while I may not have time to answer all of the questions that I can remember (which is a lot since I took notes…don’t laugh!), I’m definitely going to take the time to find answers to some of them and share them with folks here on NYMR. So, in conclusion - It’s a satirical movie made by a very biased and rude comedian but he brings up counterpoints to religion that are worth knowing about and considering. You can either go see the movie, or come back here and read the articles to come, or both. Don’t be scurred.

The Messiah, Yahshua did not invent Christianity, Constantine did. Yahshua (Messiah's) actual name would have nothing to do with pagan gods,practices or stories.If people understand the Savior in His Hebraic Context, the Hebrew roots of our faith I don't think we'd have these kind of problems & you either receive the Creator of the World's Son or not Joshua 24:15 but I can guarantee He is not pleased with the MIXTURE that has happened & is calling us out Rev.18:4, 2Cor 6:17. Israelites were slaves in Egypt, they had to relearn the ancient pathways, so they were delivered, do you think they would of taken with them the pagan properties considering they had almost forgotten the Creator of the Universe who outlined Commandments of which our Savior did not abolish, & neither should we. Jeremiah 10 says do not learn the way of the nations including xmas trees. Christianity not knowing the depth of the Savior who is not greek, makes Him look goofy & hypocrital or a copycat...Look into Hebraic Christianity or Messianic RETURN TO YOUR HEBRAIC ROOTS, that is how the Spirit is moving in these last days www.biblicalholidays.com, www.wildbranchministries.com among so many others! Notice also there is no pagan god named YAHWEH... hint hint! So far, we have the New King James Version, the New Living Translation, the New International Version, the Message Bible...
